Tdot

June 30, 2005

Off to Toronto today to visit some friends, and possibly catch a glipse of the ever elusive, and territorial urban dweller known to some as my brother.

I love getting up in the morning and enjoying maple syrup. Real maple syrup. I have been spoiled in that my family has made it’s own syrup since I can remember. My favorite all time breakfast? Buttered toast with maple syrup to dip it in. Mmmmmmmm. So Freakin good it should be illegal. It’s that good.

I am also off to have my first blogger encounter. By that I mean meeting someone face to face whom I have only eevr related to through their blog or via msn. I was going to hook up with LT while he was in Australia, but I got employed. Darryl and I tried to hook up once, but scheduling issues derailed that meeting too. So today I will be having lunch with Bene. I join only a handful of others (actually both Darryl and LT have met Bene… and at the same time too I think!) who have had a personal encounter with our Canadian friend. I’m looking forward to it. Plus, I get to travel to Toronto on a new route, which is always fun. I’m off.

The White Space Solved

June 30, 2005

Ok. Figured it out. In Blogger under “Settings”, and “Formatting”, scroll down and you’ll find the “Enable Float Alignment” option. Set this to “No” and the white space disappears. Simple as that. It must be a feature they just added or something. Anyways…. now we know.

If you want em let me know. If not, trash they be.

About This White Space

June 28, 2005

I have looked through my code line by line and can’t see a difference between the first posts and the latter. I haven’t changed anything in my template. This is confusing… and heaps annoying. I checked it out on Safari and IE and it is the same in both (although the site doesn’t look as good in IE as it does in Safari, but I haven’t progressed that far in my code learning yet). I couldn’t find any messages on the Blogger help site addressing this issue either. I hope Scott figures it out so he can tell me how to fix it.

UpDate- I checked out my archives, and in each one the first post has the white element. It HAS to be my template but I have not changed anything. Still working on it.

It’s 3am And This Is What I Am Looking At Online

June 28, 2005

1. Why would anyone choose to follow a God who promises more hardship, not less? Exposing the myth of a prosperity gospel. – by Philip Yancey Link

2. This Dude has built a homemade flight simulator…like the kind you sit in… with all the instruments. And in case you feel industrious and want to build your own, he’s got a very detailed history of the construction of it. Very cool.

both links via the ailing but feeling better Jordon Cooper

3. The 24-7 Prayer Website. Staff at my “olde” church have been reading through the book about this movement, Red Moon Rising. I read through a few chapters while I was visiting, and was so encouraged by what is happening through this movement. It has piqued something.

4. Why waste your time playing Yahoo Pool, when you can waste your time throwing virtual paper into a virtual bin? It makes sense doesn’t it?

5. Ever just wanted to sit on your computer and listen to Napoleon Dynamite quotes. You can. Cancel your appointments for the next 2 hours.

Sleeping In

June 25, 2005

I think my sleep patterns have finally got back to normal. I am very pleased about that.

Heading into Brockville in the morning. I am excited to see everyone again.

Why is it when we see people after a extended period of time that they seem to always say something about how you look, whether it is positive (i.e. Have you lost weight?) or negative (i.e. Gained a few have you?). I won’t bore you with which ones I am recieving lately.

Anybody Know…

June 25, 2005

Why I have this huge white space before my post? It only seems to happen on the newest post. Little help?

Some Sites You Will Like

June 24, 2005

1. Ricky Gervais, one of the genius minds behind The Office, has his site up and running with some trailers for his new project, a 6 part series called “Extras”.

From the site: A new six-part comedy series set in the world of film and television and focussed in particular on the mundane tedium of life as a supporting artist.

Can’t wait.

2. Rick Mercer has his own blog. You may remember him from Canadian comedy such as This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made In Canada, and currently, Rick Mercer’s Monday Report.

3. The Family Guy writers/producers have a blog.

Shall I Bag it Sir?

June 23, 2005

I have made it. It is 4:34am here, but I made it. My bag however, did not. It seems they didn’t get a chance to throw it on the plane while we were waiting 45min for our pilots to show up (after the flight was delayed 30 min for us). Luckily, I followed my mom’s past advice and threw a pair of undies and an extra shirt in my carry on. That will pay off nicely. Yes sir-ee.

As for now I thinks I will shower up and get a bit of sleep. See you crazy Canucks soon!

UPDATE- I got my bag on Thursday afternoon. Not bad Air Canada. But next time let’s just put my bag on the same plane you put me on, hmmm?
