Baby XY

Our boy at 19 weeks. He was all curled up and apparently is a good sleeper, as they couldn’t get him to wake up, stretch out, or do much except kick back against the ultrasound wand. But that’s alright. You don’t need a good pic to know he is beautiful.

We were pretty sure we were having a girl. No real reason for that other than gut feeling. Which, as it turns out, isn’t as accurate as one might think. Everything looks good, and he is on schedule.

In other news, our house is being sold, so we must move. The communal house is coming to an end for now. My work week is bumped back up to 5 days. And a bunch of other stuff that will get posted once we sign some papers and such.

That will be for the one other person who still reads this.

The Natives Are Beginning to Wear Off

Table Top Cricket

Yes, I have in my possession a table-top cricket game. I bet the majority of you have never seen cricket. I also would be wiling to wager that no one would have dreamed there was a “table-top” version of this sport.

Well, down here they love their cricket. They are the best at it (although some English may have differing opinions) and since I have started to understand it a bit more, I have learned to enjoy it… and playing it as well.

I figure, we get some table top hockey going… and some cricket and have a Commonwealth Games: Table Top Edition Tourney. At the very least it would be a Commonwealth Games that anyone would care about! Zing! Am I right? Huh? Am I?

Canada Day in Australia

Feel Like A Canadian

Feel Like A Canadian

This was a gift from an Aussie friend. Very funny. Went to a pub in the city that was supposed to be celebrating Canada Day, however, other than some Canadian Beer, poutine, and an 18 song cd with a smattering of Canadian artists on it, I thought their effort was poor. We decided we’ll be hosting our own next year.
